Update to Tigres 07 Cheating Scandal - Part 2

If you are behind on this one, the Dallas Tigres Mesquite 07 Boys team was recently banned from completing the final week of Classic League QT due to having an unrostered player. You can catch up here .

As we mentioned in yesterday's report, the truth of what actually happened there within the 2007 Boys Classic QT is still unfolding. We've sifted through numerous emails and DMs, and have managed confirm some facts and even make connections with their coach. So buckle up... Let's start with the fact that CLASSIC LEAGUE was likely notified last week that it's officials were not following up and checking the rosters:

This is something the league should take responsibility for. They may have even known about the issues with the rosters due to others notifying them, yet no action was taken to ensure that prior to week 2 the team would be removed and replaced. We are still working to confirm if it was known prior to Week 2 of QT, but it's beginning to really stink for the Classic League admins. The refs are paid to do roster checks before competition begins. An unrostered player being allowed to compete is as much on the Refs and Classic League officials as it would be the Dallas Tigres org. We will keep digging to confirm...

Now, we have confirmed that the Dallas Tigres Mesquite 07 Boys team was coached by Noe Peralta. We reached out to him via SMS, to hear his take, and (after a series of denials that he was their coach) he began to open up and share what he was comfortable with sharing. We could summarize, but we'd prefer you read it for yourself...

As you can see. Noe goes on to both confess that they knowingly did something wrong, and expresses his logic or perspective of why they did so. More to come, perhaps an interview is in the works....

As we mentioned in about in the previous report ... the Garland Tigres Academy were quick to distance themselves from this particular team. We've since heard from a few different sources that GTA just might have an affiliation with them after all. Perhaps this is why they were so hasty to respond....

We will keep working to confirm just how deeps those ties run, but it's not smelling great for GTA. Sometimes it's best to stay silent, yet we certainly understand with us fast approaching signing day why GTA would have the urgency. However we are tickled to see that now the Dallas Tigres Academy has release a statement in kind, especially since the team was called Dallas Tigres (Mesquite):
