Joshua Ramsey Highlight Video
“Unrelenting aggressiveness” has to be the first trait we talk about when we mention Joshua Ramsey. Ask anyone who's ever met Joshua (or Josh has he prefers), and they would likely describe him as the most well mannered and respectful teenager you'll ever meet. Off the pitch, Josh is known as a great kid, with a southern charm and smile to match. On the pitch, Josh is a big time enforcer, attacking the ball fanatically, all while shifting to cover gaps and screaming for the switch in play. Even on a casual viewing, you’ll find yourself saying “wow, what a tackle” over and over, because he constantly wins the 50/50 challenges in dangerous spots.
In 2019, Josh was key defensively for Solar SC's U17 DA team, as they would go on to win their club's first ever boys National Championship.

Following that historic national championship run, Josh earned a selection to the U-17 USMNT set to compete in the annual Nike International Friendlies. Josh went on start in both international matches: 11/14 vs Turkey (1-0 W) and 11/18 vs Netherlands (2-2 draw).

At just 17 years old, Josh went on loan into the USL Academy program with San Antonio FC. On September 19, 2020, after so much hard work, Josh earned his professional debut on with the first team.

FUT411: When did you begin playing soccer?
JOSH: I’ve been playing soccer since I was four years old
FUT411: Why do you love soccer?
JOSH: I love soccer because it gives me an opportunity to express my self freely and when I am on the pitch the only thing that matters is what is happening between the lines.
FUT411: What is your favorite professional soccer team?
JOSH: Ever since I started watching soccer my favorite team has been Arsenal. I fell in love with their style of play, and I never miss a game.
FUT411: Is there a coach or athlete that you look up to as a role model and why?
JOSH: A coach that I looked up to is Diego Castro, He taught me so many lessons throughout my time playing for him. He puts so much time and effort into giving back to the next generations of players and he has so much passion for doing so. He knew how to get the best out of me and prepared me for every situation I have faced so far in my Career.
FUT411: Which strengths do you believe you have that make you a soccer player?
JOSH: I think my biggest strength as a soccer player is my determination and grit. I love facing and dealing with adversity, I feel I perform my best when there Is a lot on the line in a game. I put my all into every game and I think my determination and grit has given me a lot of opportunities throughout my career.
FUT411: What do you believe to be one of your weaknesses and what are you doing to improve it?
JOSH: One of my weaknesses is my weak foot, I think a lot of players share this weakness. I constantly force myself to use my weak foot as much as I can in training and do extra passing drills constantly to help improve my weak foot.
FUT411: Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of soccer?
JOSH: I love to cook, I have always loved food and now I am super interested in nutrition. I love researching different foods and vitamins and what they do for the body.
FUT411: What advice would you give other soccer players your age, to help them achieve their goals?
JOSH: A piece of advice I’d give to another player would be to ask your self “why not me”. This has been a powerful question that I ask myself whenever I want to achieve something. If you want to achieve something work hard and think to yourself someone is going to do this “why not me”. No matter how hard things get through out your career if you put in the work then you will reap the reward.
